PURPLE

The colour purple is the colour of the imagination and spirituality that inspires high ideals. It is an introspective colour, allowing us to get in touch with our deeper thoughts. Purple contains the energy and strength of red with the spirituality and integrity of blue. This is the union of body and soul creating a balance between our physical and our spiritual energies. Purple assists those who seek the meaning of life and spiritual fulfilment, it expands our awareness, connecting us to a higher consciousness. For this reason it is associated with transformation of the soul and the philosophers of the world are often attracted to it.

Our favourite Purple DULUX range:

Dulux Mercury Shower 2 (10RR24/061), Dulux Violet Surprise 1 (30RB16/144), Dulux Brooklyn Nights 3 (10RB36/082)

The colour purple is specifically associated with royalty and nobility, creating an impression of luxury, wealth and extravagance. We would recommend using Dulux Violet Surprise 1 which is a slightly muted version in home library/office spaces as purple projects power and leadership. It has richness and adds a sense of quality and respect to an environment. Dulux Brooklyn Nights 3 is a light purple colour with a bluish hue. It has a fragility, sensitivity and vulnerability, we would recommend using it together with lilac on soft furnishings as curtains or upholstery in some cases. Plum is a reddish purple, being a slightly old-fashioned colour, plum is honourable and linked to family traditions and therefore you can find it on chesterfield style sofas. Bring those into your modern interior and create a sophisticated mix of old fashioned and modern design in your household.
