Commercial, Coming Soon
KLD were approached by HAVAS to provide their new 3,500 sq.ft offices in Dublin 2 as their new Dublin HQ. We collaborated with ODKM to create a series of diverse spaces across 3 floors of a new commercial building, with a ground floor reception directly facing a busy street. This gave us a unique opportunity to directly interact with the city, and formed a key part of our design thinking from the beginning.
HAVAS sell creativity, and as such they required a variety of spaces offering different tempos. These range from open plan interaction areas, break out spaces and cellular offices all anchored around a central cylindrical reception area. This bold simple form is seen as the fulcrum around which all else feeds into. It’s a social space, and uses colour, texture and simple bold geometric architectural forms help frame a unique client experience that plays on intrigue and interaction.
A fully retractable cylindrical curtain sits proudly in the centre of a the reception ‘cube’. This can be retracted and moved to create different areas of focus within the space, and can be completely removed for open forum meetings. From here, a sense of anticipation is created by contrasting dark colours and abstract mirror rectangular forms. These face the 2 main pitch spaces, with a playful take on 2 rooflights that appear to beam light into the space by the use of colour and perspective.
The space therefore changes with every step taken, as it appears to move around you. It is kinetic. It is a dynamic space for all, and the narrative of colour and texture is a common thread, taken from the fabric of the company, and weaved throughout the different spaces created throughout.
