20 Questions: KLD Marketing Intern, Crys

Crys Pikarski is an Advertising student at Temple University, and has been with us at KLD Since the beginning of July. She has been the person behind the summer of colour blogs and many social media posts. We asked her 20 questions about herself, and here were her answers!

  1. What could you not live without?

Internet. Easily.

  1. Where would be your ideal weekend break?

Any weekend with close friends in a rainy city, whether we explore or stay inside and play board games.

  1. Who is your favourite interior designer in the world?

Jeff Andrew’s interior design work is among my favourites. His use of bright colours clashing with contrasting neutrals is so beautiful.

  1. Where’s your favourite place to visit in the United States?

I really love to visit Chicago, IL. The weather is a perfect middle ground, and the city is always so lively and full of culture. Also, the views of Lake Michigan are gorgeous, and the cost to stay there is less than some big US cities.

  1. What do you love about interior design?

I love the use of colour and development of colour stories to make cohesive interior design choices. Colour is huge in all forms of design, and the right use of colour can change the entire mood of a space.

  1. Your favourite gadget or app?

Google Music.

  1. What’s on your bucket list?

Visit and move to the Pacific Northwest, either in the US or in Canada. Also, visit New Zealand.

  1. How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

Quirky. Passionate. Creative.

  1. What is your favourite saying?

My favourite saying is probably “So it goes”. It’s a great lyric from one of my favorite Billy Joel songs, and a line from my favourite book, Slaughterhouse-five.

  1. What’s your stress reliever?

I usually relieve stress through playing video games, mostly single player games. That, going for a walk in the rain, or reading a book in bed are my go-to activities.

  1. Who would you happily be stranded on a desert island with?

Probably my friend Hal, because if I’m going to die on a desert island, might as well make it with someone who can make it less boring.

  1. How would you describe your family?

My family is rather odd at times, and we bash heads a lot, but we’re all just super vocal and passionate. They’re an interesting bunch, for sure, but I love them.

  1. Where do you want to be in 5 years’ time?

I want to be in a job that I love, in a city that I love, and living with people I love because rent on your own is too expensive.

  1. What’s your favourite meal?

Chicken Tenders and Fries, a very safe classic meal.

  1. Where is your favourite holiday destination?

Probably Detroit, MI, as crazy as that sounds. I grew up in Michigan, and I love the city. There are so many amazing events that happen downtown, and the views of the Detroit River are amazing.

  1. Favourite hotel?

The Omni Hotel in Dallas. I had an amazing view of the city when I stayed there, and the general aesthetic and design both interior and exterior is so satisfying.

  1. How would you describe your home town?

A suburban city in Michigan that is perfect for driving through, buying a new car, or going grocery shopping in, and that’s about it.

  1. What’s in your handbag?

I usually just use pockets instead of a handbag. I keep my wallet, my phone, a pen, and a pack of gum, and some Carmex on me at almost all times.

  1. What’s your favourite movie?

Toy Story 2. The plot is great, the animation is smooth, and most importantly, we get new amazing characters like Bullseye and Jessie, who are iconic.

  1. What’s on your to-do list for 2018?

Get a paying job or paid internship while in school as well as visit a bunch of east coast cities in the US that I haven’t gotten around to.
